The zombie shuffle is now only 5 months away...

Some time soon i'm going to have a zombie makeup workshop...whereby i will make up some people with zombie skin and holes and stuff and show you how it's done! This year a stack of us are going to be doing the zombie shuffle and while i love doing the makeup, it takes a long time to get through everyone and there are more each year - last year was awesome but a bit rushed in the end! So in the best tradition for getting the most realistic and gruesome makeup done, i'm thinking of showing my tips. it's not hard, you just need some cornflakes, tissue, flesh coloured latex, and fake blood in variious concentrations in various types of spray bottles.

Anyone intersted? prob in feb on a sat or friday night at this point.
:)

Not working on Wednesdays and taking the Monday off as leave gives me a five day holiday.

So in honour of the horse race that hopefully will allow me to go to bunnings to buy much wood and then ruin it with the router in the back lean to, here is a picture i call 'at the races'.

Full of Taxidermy Fail

I'm putting these under a cut cause they are not overly safe for work. Lots of fake zombie blood....

...so i started doing taxidermy on this mouse but it turned out mutie. so i decided it was a zombie mouse

This mouse looked a lot better. i appeared to have worked out how to restuff one at this point, however, i broke the skin around it's eye while trying to get an eye into it. so it also is a zombie mouse

Then i had an epic fail with a baby chicken. the fail was that the shape i had made for the chicken skeleton was really wrong. Birds are harder.on an attempt to stuff it back into it's skin, things went a bit awry. and it turned out i was coming down sick at that point and i stopped caring to make it good...

so i decided, time for a zombie chicken.

now, THIS was fun

Here's my interpretation of Mr Mintago, standing atop his scrap metal heap, jovian children in the background....

Thanks to colin for the text...:)

Mr Mintago, Sir:

I have completed my commission to the best of my ability. As you requested Sir, I have rendered your person with understatement, dignity, and tact - or as you put it, Sir: "Make me look good but don't art it up so I come off as some sort of Gallente queer." Indeed, Sir, a fine way of putting it and a most reasonable request. I am sure this painting will be in demand for postage stamps, commemorative plates, tattoos and as decoration on the side of pimped-out frigates throughout the galaxy. This will be even more the case when your efforts on behalf of the Jovian Children's Fun gets the recognition it deserves. (By the way: please pass my regards onto Bruno, Guiseppe and little Ribbons. I hope her surgery went well and her spiraling medical bills will no longer prove a pressing problem.)

Although the production of the artwork and honoring such a great man of the galaxy is it's own reward, I hope, Sir, that you won't think any less of me for bringing up such crass matters as the terms and conditions of my commission. The business arrangement we made, if you recall Mr Mintago, was when you visited my family's scrap metal business some weeks ago. At the time you were calling yourself Mr. Ogatnim (a fine joke, if I say so Sir). As your retainers were negotiating with my father and trying, very gallantly, to put out the fire that started inexplicably in our offices, you happened on one of my paintings and said that if I could paint one of your person, you might renegotiate the terms of the "merger" you proposed with my father. Business is business and there is no finer businessman than yourself, and so I know the blockade of our family's asteroid and the smear campaign on the galactic nets are all in the spirit of healthy competition. Nevertheless, I hope this portrait will spur you to reconsider.

Sir, you are known for your generosity and I know I can count on you to discharge your undertaking without delay.

Also would yourself or the other Mr Mintago see his way clear to releasing my sister from the cargo hold of the freighter that is currently parked in the third asteroid belt? She should never have used such language in your presence, sir, and everybody knows that you aren't a "shifty motherfucker" as she claimed. In truth, Sir, she has always been a little unstable mentally. Please don't take her ravings seriously.

Sincerely, etc.
